Betty Sue Simonson started sewing when she was 5 years old at her mother’s treadle sewing machine. She didn’t take a quilt class until 1980, but was immediately hooked and has been quilting ever since. She’s been designing and publishing quilt patterns and related items since 1990, and been a vendor and teacher at quilt shows and guilds around the U.S.
Entranced by the history and small village atmosphere of Arrow Rock, Missouri, Betty Sue and her husband Ray bought a house there in 2001. In 2004 Betty Sue decided to combine two things she loves and loves sharing—Arrow Rock and quilting—and created the Arrow Rock Quilt Camp. Now in it’s 7th year, she has decided to involve even more people by adding another gathering: the Crazy Quilt Retreat. Come join us!
