  1. Quilt Camp 2021 was a good one with lots of events to remember. We had 2 days of Show and Tell, Dawn’s Trunk Show, the theatre tour and also the town quilt show. They were all planned and lots of fun and you would think our quilt camp stories ended there. But 3 months later I learned that our camp memories are still going on and making new ones.

In the middle of camp, Klonda found a hungry bicyclist’s from Germany who was riding across the United States. His name was Patrick and we fed him two meals as the town had no restaurants at that time and our cater was always very generous. Many of us had a good visit with him and enjoyed hearing about his journey. Patrick even joined our Facebook page.

Patrick ate breakfast with us the next morning and headed west to Lexington Missouri. August arrives and there is a picture of the Arrow Rock quilt that many of us had made from Shelly Paglai’s design. The picture I was looking at was beautiful, like all of them were and even had the words, “Arrow Rock” on it. I didn’t recognize the name on the post at first but the picture looked like it been taken in Europe so I wondered what it could be about.

Along with the picture was a story from Patrick about when he go to San Fransisco a big and heavy package was waiting for him. Klonda had sent him the Arrow Rock quilt that she had made! What a nice gift!

Patrick says it took Klonda longer to make the quilt than it did for him ride across our country. He has enjoyed showing it to his friends and family and telling the story to go along with it. He has placed it in his home in a place of honor. Belinda Essmyer
